Marine turbocharger spare parts

Components for the repair and reconditioning of marine turbochargers, identified from the details of your own unit.

Draft — pending technical review

Matching the part to the unit

A turbocharger is built from closely fitted components that turn at very high speed in hot, contaminated exhaust gas. Parts that look alike can differ in dimensions, materials and balance, so a component should be identified against the exact make, model and serial number of the unit it is going into, not by appearance alone.

By spare parts we mean components for the repair and reconditioning of marine turbochargers. They are supplied as part of the repair work, whether that is done on board or in our workshop in Tuzla.

What wears in service

These are the component groups most often discussed when a turbocharger is repaired. Which of them need replacing depends on the condition of the unit, found by inspection, and not on a fixed list.

  • Bearings and sealsSupport the shaft and keep oil and gas apart. Wear or damage here can lead to oil leakage, vibration or contact between rotating and fixed parts.
  • Compressor wheelDraws in and compresses the charge air. Fouling, erosion or impact damage can change its balance and efficiency.
  • Turbine wheel and bladesDriven by exhaust gas, so it works in the hottest part of the unit. Deposits, erosion and cracking are among the points checked.
  • Shaft and rotating assemblyCarries both wheels. The condition of the shaft and the balance of the assembly as a whole affect how smoothly the unit runs.
  • Nozzle ring and casing partsWhere fitted, they guide gas and air onto the wheels. Wear, deposits or distortion can alter the flow and the clearances.

Which of these groups we can supply for your unit is confirmed for each enquiry.

What we need from you

To identify the correct components, send as much of the following as you can.

  • The turbocharger make, model and serial number from the nameplate, ideally as a clear photo.
  • The type of engine the turbocharger is fitted to.
  • Part numbers or drawings, if you have them, for example from the instruction manual or from the removed part.
  • Photos of the unit and of any visible damage, and a short description of what happened.
  • The vessel's location and how much time it has.

Send the details by WhatsApp, by e-mail or through the contact page. We will tell you what we can supply and what we still need to know.

Parts and workshop work

A part is rarely the whole job. A worn bearing can be a symptom of an oil supply problem, and a damaged wheel can be the result of something that entered the unit. Replacement parts are therefore normally fitted as part of an inspection-led repair.

Spare parts questions

How do you identify the correct spare part for my turbocharger?

We work from the make, model and serial number on the nameplate, part numbers if you have them, and photos of the unit or the removed part. If something is unclear we will ask before suggesting a component.

Can you give a standard delivery time for parts?

No. Availability and lead time depend on the part and the turbocharger, so we confirm them for each enquiry instead of quoting a standard figure.

Do you supply original or compatible parts?

TurboTurk is an independent service provider, not affiliated with or authorised by the manufacturers. Whether a given part is a manufacturer-original or a compatible part is stated for that part in the quotation.

Are parts fitted on board or in the workshop?

Either can be possible, depending on the unit, the part and the situation. Our field service covers on-board and shipyard work and our Tuzla workshop handles reconditioning. Tell us the vessel, its location and the turbocharger model, and we will confirm what can be done.
